So, remember the Free Hugs Campaign from a few years back? Here’s a refresher:
Aww, don’t it tug at your heartstrings? We’re still so inspired by this campaign that we fashioned our own tshirt version called ‘Free Awkward Hugs’. Hugs are indeed wonderful, but many factors must come together to create the perfect hug. Thus a lot of hugs fall into the ‘awkward’ category. But in the end, a hug is a hug no matter the degree of awkwardness.
Heyyy Guyyysss … Thought we’d post a little update since we’ve been neglecting our blogging duties for waay too long. And also because MOTL is on again!
That’s right, the Made on the Left Designer Arts and Craft Market is back again and Nonworkers will be there. We have been busily working on some new stuff that MUST be ready in time. We have just printed some fresh Help Symbols Books which will be on sale once again so yay for that.
We will be there on Saturday the 14th (there are different sellers spread over two days). As always there is much goodness to see and buy at MOTL and it’s only going to get bigger so get on down.

Wow-ee! Nonworkers was mentioned in the Habitat section of the The West Australian Newspaper on Friday. We were included in an article promoting the upcoming Made on the Left Market along with photos of our Gift Cards and Help Symbols Book. Boy oh boy, we are pretty wrapped with that one! (Thanks to Laura at The West and Sarah at MOTL)
We are running a bit behind in preparation for MOTL; that seems to be our style ;p but we’ll get there. So, don’t forget to get on down to Made on the Left this Saturday and Sunday and check out the talent from WA.

Update:
Dara from Made on the Left has informed us that we also received a little write up in the local paper. We were described as an ‘Arts Collective’. Gosh, that sounds pretty cool doesn’t it? Heh, definitely too cool for us. But we wouldn’t know what term to use to describe what we’re on about so we’re happy for others to sum it up. Gotta love MOTL! Thanks Dara. Thanks also to Louise from the Community News Group.
Yay! Nonworkers will be at Made on the Left (MOTL) again. You can catch us and our wares at the Made on the Left Market on Saturday July 25th at the Hyde Park Hotel, West Perth along with many other creative folk from WA.
Ok, now that we’ve told you, the only thing left to do is um … everything else EEEK! Do hope to see you there :D
Yesterday I made a little cupcake pincushion, something that had been on my ‘to make’ list for quite sometime. You see, I was searching on Google trying to finding uses for soft drink bottle caps when I came across this fantastic tutorial from Craft Stylish. I never thought I could be this crafty, especially since I don’t really know how to sew properly (you can probably tell ;p). I don’t like things with a high level of difficulty and I don’t have much patience so that’s why it was on my list for so long. But I gotta tell ya, it was easier and quicker than I thought it was going to be. And quite fulfilling I might add. Gosh I love the interwebs.
