The Notebox

The Notebox: A Simple How-To
Simplest. Thing. Ever.

I’m rather obsessed with organising and have tried a lot of different systems. In the past whenever I’ve been in a hurry and had to quickly jot down a message, list or idea. I have reached one of my many notepads that were not meant for such things and ‘ruined’ it with messy work. (I am rather precious that way).

Cue, The Notebox – a simple, small re-used box full of cut up blank scrap paper. By blank, I mean blank on at least one side. Paper must be re-used as this is the point of the whole thing. The idea is to use this paper for everything you jot on the spot. Phone messages, phone doodles, to-do lists, ideas, thoughts etc.

The Notebox is my saviour and ensures my notepads keep their intended use and things don’t get unorganised and out of hand. It doesn’t waste, doesn’t cost, doesn’t judge. It is the constant in my constantly changing organisational system.

Here’s how you do (as if you need me to explain):

The Notebox How-To

In plain English

  • Find, make or fashion a small note-sized box and decorate to your hearts content
  • Add scrap paper of any size, shape, colour, texture
  • Use backs of dockets, letters, documents; anywhere you can find white space
  • Dispose of unwanted notes easily and keep important ones together for later reference
  • Only use what you already have
  • 100% re-use. Easy
  • Totally environmental, economical and creative
  • The Notebox is suitable for notes, messages, lists and scribbles..
