Awesome vs Irksome

Griggs - TV Presenter .. or something.

Rafa Nadal winning the Australian Open was so thrilling. I can’t remember watching a more entertaining or passionate player, well not since John McEnroe (but that was many moons ago when I was little more than a tot). Coincidentally, both are left-handers – like myself – which only enhances their greatness in my mind.

Inspirational Tennis Champs!

Inspirational Tennis Champs!

I was off tennis for years, primarily because of all the friggin’ aces; the dreaded power play. Tennis should be about rallies, long skillful rallies with mostly clean winners and players that come to the net every once in awhile. This IS Nadal, AND hopefully the dawn of a new era of tennis. Also it doesn’t hurt that he’s rather easy on the eye ;p.

The same however, cannot be said for Channel 7′s tennis presenter Joanna Griggs.
What. A. Pain, with her incessant self-promotion via god-awful commercials for trashy gossip mag New Idea (which I sometimes flick through but never buy .. that makes it ok, right?).

Bad Idea

As if we hadn’t seen enough of her throughout the tennis coverage, as if ad breaks aren’t annoying enough; she has to fill the screen with her rubbery smile, prancing down the street, laughing in slow-motion, all because of .. a magazine? Let’s see how happy she is when those slimies turns on her (read: Bec).

Ends in tears

It ends in tears

Seemingly with her finger in every pie, Griggs is set to become the new Eddie McEverywhere, and we all know how that ended.

Summing up, yay Rafa!, boo Griggs!

    Ah, another Nadal fan!

I think I was too focused on him during the Aussie Open to notice Joanna Griggs all too much, haha
