Biig Day!
A bevy of Nonworkers products on offer
Nonworkers had a great day at the Made on the Left market on Saturday. Being our first craft market it was a little scary rocking up to the venue; we didn’t quite know what to expect or how we would be received. But we needn’t have worried; everyone was very friendly and accommodating from the get-go, we got to meet lotsa talented folk and saw a huge variety of wonderous creations.
The people really got behind Nonworkers too and why wouldn’t they, eh? One lady who bought a Nonworkers tshirt told us that she intended to wear it to work, which is exactly what we love to hear! The packs of gift cards were amazingly popular, we were totally thrilled by the reaction to them. Thanks to the lovely young girl who spotted them first, very early on and got the ball rolling :).

We also debuted our new Help Symbols book that we’ve been playing around with for a couple of weeks. We’ll tell you more about it in the next post but basically the book consists of 16 different Help Symbols screen-printed onto calico and sewn into a small book a tad bigger than the palm of your hand (ever so tactile). It’s our new favourite thing. Seriously, we love it and had high hopes for it at the market, but they take so freakin’ long to make and we could only manage to complete two books before market day was upon us. Wish we’d taken a detailed shot of the finished books (they were both snapped up v quick!) but we’ll get the rest sewn up asap.

So thanks to Made on the Left and the Hyde Park Hotel for putting on a great event and to the good people of Perth for supporting such an event. Perth is really getting into this whole local market thing (there are many others going on) and we think it’s a positive direction to be heading in. Locally made, non-generic, quality products. Sure beats the whole mass-production thing don’t it?
Aside from that, there’s much more stuff on the way. Lots of products to put in our shop AND … something new, a new mystery undertaking, what could it be? … It’s soap OK - that’s the new thing. But more about that soon.. ah-ah-ah-ah-aaaaaaaah!
